[Tohoku University] New Aobayama Campus Development
The great majority of graduate schools are concentrated in the Aobayama / Kawauchi area, which encompasses Tohoku University's new campus (82 ha) and will create new academic areas. With plans to develop a new science park, the area is expected to rapidly accelerate the relocation of companies, research institutions, and industry-academia collaborations. Additionally, the Aobayama Station (tentative name) of the East-West Subway Line will be constructed in the area, enabling easy access to downtown areas and industrial parks.
