Involuntary Termination of Employment National Health Insurance Premium Reduction Scheme

This scheme isfor people who have left their jobs due to business reasons such as bankruptcy, dismissal, or termination of employment contract.

Holders of a Certificate of Employment Insurance aged under 65 at the time of termination of employment with the following “Termination of Employment Code” listed below will have their insurance premiums calculated at thirty percent of their income tax of the previous year.

Those in the category of “Designated Qualified Recipient” with the “Termination of Employment Code” 11,12, 21, 22, 31,32

Those in the category of “Designated Reason Termination of Employment” with the “Termination of Employment Code” 23,33,34

  • Reduction Period: The following day after termination of employment of the same month until the end of the next fiscal year.
  • A report is required to receive the reduction.
  • Required documents: Certificate of Employment Insurance
  • Holders of the Exceptional Case Qualified Persons Certification and Job Applicants' Benefits for the Elderly certification are not eligible.

Influenza Vaccination Period

As we get closer to the winter months it is expected that the need for the influenza vaccination will be higher than usual this year, as there are concerns that both Covid-19 and influenza will be circulating simultaneously. We ask for cooperation in allowing those who are particularly susceptible to severe illness such as the elderly to be prioritized inreceiving the vaccination.

  • Starting from October 1st , those aged 65years or older, and those age 60 to 64 who have heart conditions etc.(equivalent to class 1 disability) are to receive the vaccination as soon as possible.
  • Those who are not specified above may receive the vaccination from October 26th.

We ask that health-care professionals, those with underlying health conditions, pregnant women, and children ages 2 months through to elementary 2nd grade age receive the vaccination as soon as possible, starting from October 26th.

Accepting Requests for Free Early Childhood Education and Childcare

To receive free Early Childhood Education and Childcare a request must be made to Sendai City. Those who are eligible should begin application procedures.

  • Eligibility: Those who have the Need for Childcare Certification 2 or 3 and are using services such as kindergartens, center for early childhood education and care (nursery school only), unlicensed childcare facilities, temporary childcare services, childcare services for sick children, and Sendai sukusuku family support care services
  • Period of Eligibility: April 1st, 2020 to September 30th, 2020
  • Request Period:October 20th(Tue.), 2020

Eligibility

If your child is under the age of 3 (born on April 2nd, 2018 or later), you can apply for the following facilities and services:

If your child is age 3 or older (born between April 2nd, 2015 and April 1st,2018), you can apply for the following facilities and services:

Application for Childcare Facilities and Services

  • Application Period: Wednesday, November 4th - Thursday, December 4th, 2020
  • Where to apply: the Home Health Section of Ward Offices or the Health and Welfare Section of the Miyagi General Branch Office with jurisdiction over yourfirst-choice childcare facility or service.

If you have already applied for Childcare Facilities and Services for FY2020, but have not been accepted and still wish to use childcare facilities and services from April, 2020, you must eapply.

Application packets aredistributed at the Childcareand Benefit Section of ward offices or the Health and Welfare Section of Miyagi General Branch Offices from October 16th, 2019. You can also download applications and other forms from Sendai City’s official website.

2. Application for Center for Early Childhood Education and Care (Kindergartens Only) and Kindergarten

  • All the Centers for Early Childhood Education and Care and private kindergartens provide temporary day care services.
  • Some of those facilities, such as nursery schools, may providelong hours of extended childcare services.
  • Please directly inquire to the facility for application deadlines, conditions, inquiries, and for information on how to apply.

Health Check-ups for Children Enrolling in Elementary School Spring 2020

  • Location: Your assigned venue (school) can be found on the Notification of School Entrance Health Check-up
  • Eligibility:Children who were born between April 2nd, 2014 and April 1st, 2015.
  • What to bring: Notice of School Entrance Health Check-up, School entrance Health Check-up Form, indoor shoes, writing utensils
  • In principle, you cannot come to the school by car.
  • Some schools offer 30-minute parenting lectures for guardians during health check-ups. Please ask each school or the Lifelong Learning Section (Tel: 022-214-8887) about availability of childcare services.
  • If your child is unable to receive a health check-up at the assigned school, he/she can receive it at any school convenient to them. You must contact, in advance, both your assigned school and the school where you wish your child to have the health checkup.

BCG Vaccinations

  • Eligibility: BCG vaccinations are given to children under one year of age. (The standard age for BCG vaccinations is five to seven months old.)
  • Things to bring: Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Handbook, BCG vaccination coupon from the MCH Handbook voucher packet (please fill out and detach)
  • Please wait at least 28 days after your child receives a live vaccine (such as polio) or seven days after your child receive san inactive vaccine (such as DPT-IPV) for BCG vaccinations.
  • Please go directly to the vaccination site.(Reservations not required.)
  • BCG vaccinations may be received outside your ward of residence.
