Accepting Claims for Free Early Childhood Education and Care

To receive the Free Early Childhood Education and Care subsidy you must submit a claim to the City. Please complete the procedures if you are eligible.

• Eligibility: those who have the new class 2 or 3 Childcare Certificate and are using a nursery school, extended childcare services at kindergarten or centers for early childhood education and care, unlicensed nurseries, temporary childcare services, childcare services for sick children, or family support care services.
• Eligible period: April 1st , 2021 - June 30th , 2021
• Due date of claim: July 20th (Tue.), 2021

Please Don’t Forget to Apply for Reduction and Exemption of National Pension Payments

If you have difficulty making National Pension payments for financial reasons, you can apply for complete exemption or partial reduction of payments (your income will be audited and you will be assigned to one of four tiers based on your income in the previous year).

Basic Health Checkup will Begin from July

• Examination Period: July 1st (Thu.) to September 30th (Thu.) 2021, and January 4th (Tue.) to January 31st (Mon.) 2022
• Eligibility: Persons aged 35 to 39 years or 75 years and over and applied to take part in the Basic Health Checkup run by the City of Sendai
• For those who have not applied, please apply as soon as possible.

We are accepting consultations of those whose incomes have been reduced due to COVID-19, and are unable to pay inhabitant tax by the due date because of difficult circumstances.

-Application Deadline: July 16th (Fri.)-

• The application packet will be distributed from July 6th (Tue.) at the following places:
  Application Section of Sendai City Construction Public Corporation (Sendai City Hall Kokubuncho Office 2F), Shimin-no-heya, Sendai City Hall 1F, General Information Desk of all ward offices, General Branch Offices, Sendai Station Service Center of the Family Registration Section, Aoba Ward Office (AER 5F),
  Certificate Issuance Center, Chuo-shimin Center of any ward, Lifelong Learning Promotion Center, Miyagi Prefectural Public Housing Corporation, Sendai Municipal Housing Administration Office
• How to apply: Choose the unit you wish to apply for, fill out the application form attached to the application packet and, using the provided envelope, send in the form by mail by July 16th (Fri.). In the event that there are more applications than available housing, applications will be chosen by lottery.
• Move-in date: September 22nd (Wed.) (tentative)
• Eligibility: Those who meet all the following conditions.

1. Those that have difficulty finding a place to live.
2. Applicant must have be a single parent with a dependent child under 20 years old or households with preschool aged children (born on and after April 2nd, 2015).
3. Those that reside in Sendai or commute to Sendai.
   There are other conditions such as income limit, so please refer to the application packet for details
