Application for Enrollment in Kindergartens and Nursery Schools

The New Support System for Children and Child-Rearing is scheduled to start from April 2015. This system will promote education and childcare for young children and community support for children and child-rearing.
In accordance with the introduction of the new system, applications accepted from November for enrollment in kindergartens and nursery schools for FY2015 will change as follows:

1. Application for enrollment in kindergartens and nursery schools

If you wish to apply to a kindergarten, nursery school or other facility/project*1 covered by the new system, you must obtain approval to enroll based on the guardian’s work or other circumstances. There are three types of approval based on the age of the child and the necessity for childcare*2. Facilities and projects meeting individual needs are offered for each type of approval.
There is no need to obtain approval for kindergartens that fall outside the new system or for Sendai Nursery Rooms.

2. Cost to user(childcare fee)

Childcare fees for each facility will be set by the municipal government based on the guardian’s income and other considerations.

Childcare fees for kindergartens that fall outside the new system will be set by each kindergarten as before. Depending on the guardian’s income, kindergarten enrollment incentives may be available to reduce the financial burden. If you wish to apply for incentives, please do so through your child’s kindergarten after enrollment.
