○A large quantity of waste due to house moving
You can’t put out bulky waste and or large quantities of waste at household garbage collection points. Please dispose them in one of the following ways (all charged). However, the four main household electric appliances (TV sets, refrigerators / freezers, air conditioners, washing machines / clothes dryers) and PCs are not collected by the city. For more details on how to dispose of them, please check our official website, or directly contact the collection office of the ward in which you reside or the Waste Supervision Section.
1. Apply for Bulky Waste Collection (collection is done about once in every two weeks)

2. Apply for Collection of Large Quantities of Waste (Including Bulky Waste)
Apply by phone: call the collection office of the ward in which you reside (if you reside in Miyagi General Branch Office’s territory, call the Miyagi Sanitary Environment Corp. on 393-2216)
3. Bring waste in yourself

Please contact the electricity supplier which you have a contract with for information on how to start or disconnect your electric service.

The period from late March to early April is the peak season for ward offices with many people trying to file changes in residence registration due to moving in or moving out. The counters of sections that handle address changes in each ward office will extend their opening hours during the period mentioned below in order to ease crowding and to shorten waiting time.
Please check the new timetable at bus stops or on the Transportation Bureau’s official website at http://www.kotsu.city.sendai.jp/ after March 24th (Fri.).

Applications from those who lost their houses in the Great East Japan Earthquake, those from the restricted habitation area designated in the Act on Special Measures for the Rebirth of Fukushima, and also evacuees who resided in the Disaster Assistance Area outlined in the Child Victims’ Support Law, are also accepted, but differ in requirements.
