Where is My Refuge Area (Evacuation Centers) ?

Sendai City has designated the following places as refuge areas. Check your nearest refuge area and evacuation rout from your house in advance. Sendai City does not specify your refuge area by where you reside in (e.g. “people who live in A area must evacuate to the refuge area B). Therefore, each household should discuss with family members which refuge area they want to go to when a disaster occurs.

1.Designated Refuge Areas(Evacuation Centers)

Designated Refuge Areas(Evacuation Centers) must be facilities with buildings and open spaces such as for evacuation. Municipal elementary, junior high, and high schools are designated refuge areas.
